How do I get to Rich Mix?

Liverpool Street (0.6. miles), Old Street (0.7 miles), Aldgate East (0.9 miles) and Bethnal Green (0.8 miles). 

BY OVERGROUND – this is the route we’d recommend if you’re unfamiliar with the location, as Rich Mix is very close and straightforward to find from this station .
Shoreditch High Street (0.1 miles).

There is a Santander Cycle hire point at Shoreditch High Street station. 

There are multiple entrances to the venue. Please use the main entrance, which is up a ramp/steps, opposite a Costa coffee shop.

What time does the event start and finish?
The event takes place between 10am and 5pm, with arrivals from 9.30am. Attendees are also welcome to stay at the venue until 6pm for informal networking and a chance to join with us to raise a glass to 50 years of Dancers’ Career Development (DCD).

Will there be other people in the venue?
Yes, the venue is open to the public, although is usually very quiet during the daytime.

Where in the building will we be?
We will be primarily on the 4th (top) floor. There is a lift. Sessions will take place in The Studio, refreshments and the marketplace will be in The Mix (& bar). If you book on the day to attend the VR experience (highly recommended!) you can use the lift to go down to the 1st floor, as this will take place in The Lab. There are bathrooms on all the floors we are using.

Is the venue accessible?
The main entrance to Rich Mix can be accessed via a ramp on Bethnal Green Road. 

Once inside, lifts provide access to all gallery/performance spaces. 

There are four accessible toilets in venue with RADAR locks: 

  • on the ground floor near reception / The Stage / Streetside 
  • on the first floor by the Cinema Bar and near the Gallery / Cinema 
  • outside Screen 2 (2nd floor in the cinema) 
  • on the fourth floor near The Studio and The Mix space 

Who do I contact if I need support to access the event?
If you have not already provided details when booking your ticket, please email hannah@thedcd.org.uk if there is anything we can do to support your visit to the event. All emails requesting support should be received by DCD before Monday 4th November. We will do our best to accommodate all requests where possible, and where received with sufficient notice. On the day, DCD staff will be identifiable for support, in logo-d grey t-shirts.

What’s on the menu for lunch?
We are delighted that Oitij-Jo Collective will be providing catering for the event. The menu will include Gluten Free and Nut Free, with Vegetarian and Vegan options 

What if I have a nut allergy?
We are operating a no nut policy during the event. We kindly ask that you respect this.  

What if I have any special dietary requirements?
If you have not already provided details when booking your ticket, then please advise of us of any specific dietary requirements by emailing hannah@thedcd.org.uk Your email should please be sent no later than Monday 28th October. Requests made after this time may not be able to be accommodated due to the timelines required by the caterers for ordering and preparing food.  

Is there a dress code for the event?
No, please wear whatever you feel comfortable in. The event will take place indoors, but please dress appropriately for the weather conditions when you are travelling to the event and in case you wish to go outside during the breaks or lunch.  

Is there a cloakroom?
There is no cloakroom available. We will endeavour to make a space available as an informal space to leave wet coats and umbrellas if it is wet, but these will be left at your own risk as there is no staffed cloakroom available for the event.  

Is there a safe place for valuables?
All valuables are brought at your own risk and neither DCD nor Rich Mix can take responsibility for lost or stolen items.  

How will I be able to identify members of the DCD team?
DCD staff members will be wearing branded t-shirts on the day. 

Is there anything else I should be aware of?
We are fully committed to enabling a supportive and safe learning and working environment which is equitable, diverse and inclusive, is based on mutual respect and trust, and in which bullying, harassment, sexual misconduct, discrimination and victimisation are neither tolerated nor acceptable. 

Below are the behavioural values we expect of attendees when engaging with DCD and its staff and affiliated individuals: 

  • Before, during and after the event I will act with the utmost respect towards other attendees of the event, including staff members and fellow event participants. 
  • I will not discriminate against any fellow event participant. 
  • I will not engage in bullying, harassment, sexual misconduct, discrimination, victimisation or jeopardise the safety of any member of staff or fellow event participant, either verbally, physically, emotionally, or via social media.

  • I take my attendance at any event organised by DCD as a form of self-declaration to abide by these behaviours and values.
