Dancers’ Career Development is the charity that’s here for every dancer – across every genre, across the UK, and at every career stage.

Dance is the lowest paid performance profession and dancers face a disproportionately high risk of career-ending injury. The average professional dance career lasts just 14 years, following at least 10 years of pre-professional training.

Since the onset of Covid-19, DCD has received double the number of applications for financial support from dancers. When theatres closed their doors in response to the Covid-19 crisis, many dancers lost all their work for many months. Some found themselves ‘falling through the cracks’ – ineligible for government support.

‘Needing to take a break, but not being able to risk it financially … Trying to be innovative, responsive and managing conflict, when I’ve felt like I was only just holding my head above water.’

Please consider making a donation today and join DCD in making a direct difference to dancers. Your donation could help fund 1:1 support, coaching, mentoring or retraining grants.

Your donation will give dancers something extraordinary – a life-changing opportunity to reach their full and unique potential and a brighter, more hopeful future.

Thank you.
