Celebrating 40 years supporting dance

'Following a spinal cord injury sustained whilst performing in 1973, The Dancers' Resettlement Fund generously supported and funded me on two different occasions. The second award enabled me to do a course in costume design and after a few commissions, I was lucky to get back into dance myself and co found Candoco Dance Company with Adam Benjamin in 1991. I'm certain this would not have happened without the help of DCD, which gave me the confidence to get on with my life and for this I will always be very grateful'
Celeste Dandeker-Arnold OBE. Co founder, Candoco Dance Company

We are delighted that 2013 marks the 40th anniversary of Dancers' Career Development (formerly the Dancers' Resettlement Fund). Since our founding, we have supported over 1,700 professional dancers to develop their careers.

The DCD 40th Anniversary logo was kindly designed by DCD Retrained Dancer John Kilroy. John was a professional dancer for 17 years, dancing with Rambert and Siobhan Davies Dance Company amongst others. John's company Kilroy James was founded in 1994 and early clients included the Royal Opera House, Sadlers Wells and Dance Umbrella. Currently John is working on a digital archive platform for dance with intelligent multimedia searching and data visualisations. For more information please visit the website.

Can you help a dancer?
As we celebrate 40 years supporting professional dancers, we need your help to ensure we can continue our work. There are a number of ways you can help including single donations, regular giving, named bursaries, sponsorship and leaving a legacy.

No matter how much you give, or how, each donation will make a life-changing difference to a professional dancer.
